  • This is one of the most common questions we get — and it's a great one. Unlike an audio guestbook left in the corner of a room, we actively move around your wedding and personally invite guests to chat. We break the ice, make people feel comfortable, and guide the conversation so even the most camera-shy guests end up saying something beautiful. Every film we deliver is a minimum of 60 minutes long

  • Both Tommy and Maddie are qualified journalists with backgrounds in media and content production. Tommy created Wedding Chats and has interviewed over 9,000 people across his career. Maddie brings 15+ years of experience from NBN News and the ABC. Both deliver the same premium Wedding Chats experience — the choice often comes down to availability and personal preference. You can request examples of both and we can send you links to see them both in action.

  • Yes! We're based in Newcastle, NSW but regularly travel for weddings across Australia and internationally. We've filmed weddings in Fiji, Greece and New Zealand. Interstate and international weddings are quoted individually — just get in touch and we'll put together a custom package for you.

  • Our Wedding Chats packages start from $3,290 for Nwecastle-based, weekday weddings. Pricing varies depending on your location and the package you choose — full details are on our Packages page. We're also flexible with payment timing, with the option to spread the final balance up to six weeks after your wedding if that helps.

  • We require a deposit to secure your date, with the remaining balance due before your wedding. We're also flexible with payment timing — the final balance can be spread out up to six weeks after your wedding if that helps with cash flow during a busy time.

  • While we technically film videos at weddings, we are definitely not videographers.

    Our videos don’t feature highlights from the morning, or the ceremony, and they don’t feature any stunning drone footage.

    But they do feature some of your loved ones talking about the vibe of the wedding, and talking about their thoughts on the ceremony, as well as all about you two.

  • Honestly, these guests end up being some of our favourites. We have a process for warming people up that makes the whole thing feel like a normal conversation rather than a formal interview. By the time we're a few minutes in, most people forget the camera is even there — and those are usually the moments that end up in the final film.

  • Absolutely. We're experienced at coordinating with photographers, videographers, MCs and wedding planners to make sure everything runs smoothly. We'll liaise with your coordinator in the lead-up and on the day to make sure we're in the right place at the right time without getting in anyone's way.

  • Your Wedding Chats film is typically delivered within 4-6 weeks of your wedding date. You'll receive a private Vimeo link to download and share with whoever you'd like.

  • Yes — we have full film examples from both Tommy and Maddie in our info packs. We'd also recommend jumping on a free Wedding Chats Walkthrough call where we can walk you through exactly how the day works and show you more examples relevant to your wedding style.

  • Imagine a video with you parents, siblings or wedding party members talking all about what you mean to them, why they love you and their favourite memories with you.

  • We love the role audio guesbooks can play on your wedding day. Usually they are the main attraction a bit later in the night once your guets have had a few drinks and are full of liquid courage.

    Wedding Chats takes place much earlier in the day and includes a team member physically interviewing you guests - like before a big sports game, or an eye-witness on the news.

    Usually the audio guestbook is left unattended in the corner of the reception with the hope that your guests will wander over and leave you a message. While it’s great that the phone will be there all night, unless someone is given the job of ensuring your guests actually leave you a message - there is no guarantee how many guests will get involved.

    One of the best parts about Wedding Chats is that we roam around the wedding and bring people over to our camera set-up. We make them feel comfortable and relaxed from the outset to ensure we’re getting the best content for you.

    This is why we can guarantee our videos will all be a minimum of 45 minutes long.
